About This Role:

The primary purpose of a Senior Product Manager role is to oversee and manage the full product lifecycle, ensuring the successful development, launch, and continuous improvement of products. This involves strategic planning, understanding customer needs, defining product vision and roadmaps, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and making data-driven decisions to meet business objectives. The role requires balancing technical knowledge with customer-centric approaches, requiring leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication skills to align team efforts with organizational goals. The Senior Product Manager is pivotal in shaping a product’s direction and ensuring it delivers value to both the company and its customers.

General duties and responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Vision:
   - Define and articulate the vision and strategy for the product, aligning with the company's broader goals and market opportunities.
   - Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
2. Product Development Oversight and Hands-On Execution:
   - Lead the product development process from conception to launch, ensuring that products meet customer needs and business objectives.
   - Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to develop product roadmaps, set timelines, and prioritize features.
   - Write clear and concise product requirements and user stories.
   - Prioritize product backlog and manage roadmap timelines.
3. Customer and Market Insights:
   - Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather insights, understand their challenges, and translate needs into product features.
   - Analyze customer feedback and usage data to inform product decisions and improvements.
4. Problem Solving, Clinical & Science collaboration:
   - Tackle complex issues that arise at the intersection of clinical science and engineering, requiring a deep understanding of both domains to create effective solutions.
   - Develop strategies to bridge the gap between clinical requirements and technical capabilities, ensuring that product development aligns with medical standards and engineering feasibility.
   - Collaborate with experts in both clinical science and engineering to identify potential risks and challenges, leveraging cross-disciplinary insights for holistic problem-solving.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership:
   - Work closely with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Engineering to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
   - Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of product goals and strategies.
6. Data Driven Approach:
   - Monitor product performance and make adjustments based on key performance indicators and market feedback.
7. Documentation and Communication:
   - Communicate product plans, benefits, and results to all stakeholders, including team members, executives, and customers.
8. Team Mentorship and Development:
   - Mentor and support junior product managers and team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning.
   - Lead by example and cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

This role requires a mix of having a technical background, strategic thinking, being customer-oriented, and having strong leadership and communication skills.

1. Education:
   - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is a plus.
   - Additional qualifications or certifications in Product Management or related areas are beneficial.
2. Experience in Product Management:
   - Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a proven track record in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
   - Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, product development, and launching products in the market.
   - Prior experience in working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
3. Health Tech or Clinical Background - bonus:
   - Experience in the health tech sector or a clinical background is highly desirable. This includes working in healthcare technology, digital health, medical devices, or related fields.
   - Familiarity with healthcare regulations, clinical workflows, patient care processes, and the unique challenges of the healthcare industry.
4. Technical Proficiency:
   - Strong technical background with an understanding of software development, data analytics, and current technological trends.
   - Experience in working closely with engineering teams and a good grasp of technical challenges and limitations.
5. Leadership and Communication:
   - Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
   - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
   - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to work on complex problems involving multiple facets. Clinical science and engineering are a plus.
   - Ability to synthesize information from various sources and make informed, strategic decisions.
7. Additional Skills:
   - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferable.
   - Strong organizational and project management skills.
