With the evolution of technology has come a massive influx of new digital health applications. While novel technology holds great promise, each solution must be carefully assessed for safety, efficacy, and clinical validity.
What is ORCHA?
ORCHA, which stands for the Organization for the Review of Care and Health Apps, is the global leader in assessing and distributing digital health technologies. The organization was founded by NHS clinicians in 2015 and since then ORCHA has worked with organizations globally to ensure “that the best technology is always used to hit targets, whilst meeting regulations.”
According to the ORCHA website, they are on a mission “to put the power of digital health safely into the hands of everyone who needs it.”
OneStep joins the list of ORCHA approved apps!
OneStep is proud to announce the recent achievement of passing ORCHA’s rigorous assessment protocols, indicating the OneStep app is among apps of the highest standards!
Level 4 is ORCHA’s highest level with the most strict standards for passing the assessment process. OneStep was assessed at level 4 as it was concluded that OneStep’s novel gait analysis can be used to inform treatment and therefore must surpass the strict standards outlined at this level
Only 7% of the apps reviewed meet and pass this level — a remarkable achievement demonstrating that OneStep’s functionality meets the highest standards.
What is the significance of passing an ORCHA assessment?
As healthcare continues to transform and embrace new technology, it’s critical that digital health solutions are thoroughly evaluated and vetted to uphold standards of care and patient safety.
Passing ORCHA’s rigorous assessment indicates that the digital health technology has met the requirements and is considered a solution that is trustworthy and can be recommended for use.
Organizations like the American Physical Therapy Association are turning to ORCHA to assist in creating libraries of trusted digital solutions to make it easier for their members to navigate the ever-evolving field of health technology — empowering healthcare organizations and clinics with information to choose trusted digital solutions.
